Application & Function
Polysorbate 80 is oluble in water, soluble in ethanol, vegetable oil, toluene, ethyl acetate, methanol, insoluble in mineral oil. Low temperature gelatinize, after heat recovery. Have a special foul-smelling and slightly bitter taste. Dispersion of phthalocyanine green have help.
Mainly used as emulsifier, wetting agent, penetrating agent, dispersant, etc, also used as a component of polyamide fiber and viscose for tyre oilare a class of emulsifiers used in cosmetics and food preparation. They are often used in cosmetics to solubilize essential oils into water-based products. Polysorbates are oily liquids derived from ethoxylated sorbitan (a derivative of sorbitol) esterified with fatty acids.
